Out, Proud, and Singing Loud!

Knoxville Gay Mens Chorus

Thinking of Joining KGMC?

Interested singers must attend at least one of the Open Rehearsals at the beginning of each term, after which they must schedule an audition. The audition consists of singing a short, familiar piece of music ( “My Country, ’Tis of Thee,” “Amazing Grace,” “Happy Birthday,” etc.); a range check; a sight-singing check; and a brief conversation about Chorus life, repertoire, expectations, and the prospective member’s hopes for his experience with KGMC. The Artistic Director will notify prospective members of the outcome of the audition process, usually within a few days of the last audition date.

KGMC performing at the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church helping to raise funds for the Oak Ridge High School GSA in conjunction with National Coming Out Day:
KGMC would like to give a heart-felt 'Thank you!' to our founding Artistic Director Christopher Hamblin.  He has moved on to bigger and hopefully better things in South Florida.  Without your help, we would not have been able to get off the ground.  Best of luck to you and Tim in your exciting future!

In Christopher's place, KGMC has brought on board the incredible Mr Freddie Brabson.  He's bringing a new and fresh set of eyes to our chorus and will move us further in the direction that Christopher started.  Welcome Freddie!  You can read more about him on the 'About' page.
In the spring of 2013, KGMC took it to the streets to open the show for Nashville in Harmony at TPAC.  It was a wonderful experience and we feel we represented Knoxville very well!  We also performed at 2 services on Sunday June 2nd at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville:

Knoxville Gay Men's Chorus at their first Holiday concert in 2012 (featuring the fabulous Melanie Howe on the front row!).
